Generator Canopies
Generator Installations UK supply and install all types of diesel standby generators including:
• Open set Generators – These generators are not sound proofed and do not have an external canopy. The generator unit consists of the engine, alternator and fuel tank mounted onto a metal skid. Due to the absence of sound proofing, open set generators are installed within a dedicated room such as a basement and appropriate sound proofing works must be carried out to the room to achieve suitable noise levels
. • Standard Canopied set (80dbA@1m) – this generator is covered by a lockable and weatherproof canopy, which not only protects the generator from the elements but also reduces the noise levels of the generator to 80dbA@1 metre.
• ‘Silent’ Canopied set (70dbA@1m) – additional sound attenuation from the acoustic canopy provides reduced noise levels of 70dbA@1metre. This specification is normally only used for special situations such as housing estates and hospitals to further minimise any nuisance to neighbours or end users.
• Marine Containerised – a marine containerised generator is a sound attenuated generator, which is located within a lockable, sea and weatherproof generator especially built to withstand the gruelling and challenging environment of a ship’s deck subject to the elements.
• Bespoke built generators– Generator Installations UK can design and build customised and bespoke generators following your exacting specifications. As part of the service we can retrofit generators within buildings and can install all the necessary sound attenuation to provide suitable noise levels for your staff.
